Re: Aki's Multi-Art
I would have done a higher resolution, but I needed to render quickly as to do other things.

That's amazing. What do you use to get textures?

Sweet. Looking good. The four buckles that attach the leather straps to the chest piece look a bit blocky though :PMaybe you could make it so the buckles go under the chest piece, or whatever.
Ya know what would make it look epic? Some furs. lol. Idk what theme you are going for though. The shoulder pads look japanese.

Re: Aki's Multi-Art
I think that people are missing the big picture here...A Cuirass is nothing, but a mold of the body in general so if you're going to do anything, first you should consider correcting the proportions on the mannequin that you've made.I don't see any chest area and it really just looks like he's wearing slanted
cardboard cutouts.Secondly, you should at least attempt to chamfer some of those hard edges. It's far too sharp and just adding smoothing groups will not help the situation. The third thing that should be done is to probably define your geometry more. All of your shapes look simplistic and similar so there's not variation to it all. Finally, remove that dubious symbol for it will stand out and become questionable.Instead, create it from your textures and if you've got the knowledge to use displacement, make a heightmap and then the mesh will be displaced in the area in which the map corresponds.

Re: Aki's Multi-Art
You should make the ribs zone bigger than the hips. Also, the pectorals shouldn't be at the same level with the chest when you look from the left/right side. Just some suggestions.
And I think people are grateful to Aki and tell him beautiful words because he keep them informed about the progress of the game and they don't pay attention at the small details from his work for to upset him or for to discourage him from posting more.

Re: Aki's Multi-Art
The pectorals are muscles bridging to the deltoid. When the arm is outstretched, the muscles pull upward. They also stretch inward causing for a somewhat deflated chest. The Costa(Ribs) are at an appropriate position and the superficial ribs are also. That's one of the big problems about a community that's soft...Aki's stated that he's building up a portfolio, but not mentioning these tiny details and such will hamper whatever progress he's attempting to gain.I have an extensive amount of knowledge and help Aki when I can...Konohuro wrote:You should make the ribs zone bigger than the hips. Re: Aki's Multi-Art
You're right in tis point. I didn't choosed my words right, let me reformulate from pectorals to pectorals zone. Because if you look at your own body you'll see that the hips zone isn't so big as the ribs/pectorals zone. I think that if you will pull a lil bit the cocyx zone inward, the body will look more athletic.Paws wrote:The pectorals are muscles bridging to the deltoid. When the arm is outstretched, the muscles pull upward. They also stretch inward causing for a somewhat deflated chest. The Costa(Ribs) are at an appropriate position and the superficial ribs are also.
Glad to hear that you just wanted to help him because in your previous post you was a bit rude and looked like as you didn't appreciated his hard work.Paws wrote:help Aki when I can...
Nope, I didn't. I just thought you don't appreciate his hardwork so... if you read above you will understand that I didn't.Paws wrote:Don't know if you were attempting to tell me to fuck off with your comment or what...

Re: Aki's Multi-Art
I understand, but I don't want to have a discussion throughout Aki's works here which kind of prompts me to make my own thread.Konohuro wrote:You're right in tis point. Yea.In the old forum,I was a bit tolerable of things, but I gave super long critiques on individuals works.I don't want to baby these
artists...I want them show progress with their WIP's.
